Cosmopolitan Fashion Director
Nicole is currently Fashion Director across all Cosmopolitan titles: Cosmopolitan and Cosmopolitan Brides. She has spent her life living and breathing fashion and continues to love it – each month she produces and styles 30 pages of fashion in Cosmo herself as well as overseeing the direction of all the other fashion pages in every edition. Nicole also casts, styles and MC’s several runway shows for Cosmopolitan magazine each year. Cosmopolitan is the world’s number-one magazine for young women, 61 editions are published in over 100 countries, reaching 78 million readers worldwide.
Nicole has a BA majoring in psychology and education and is a qualified Yoga instructor. Her first ever fashion job was Buying Assistant at Bras n Things and she dabbled in design working for an imports company that supplied to major chains such as Big W and Target. Nicole’s first step into the magazine world was working as an intern for ELLE magazine one day a week for a year. She then started her official magazine career at Studio Collections and Black + White magazine as PA to the Editor. She quickly moved up to Fashion and Beauty Writer at these titles before leaving to work at DOLLY magazine as Beauty Editor. After her stint at Dolly she moved to CLEO magazine as Fashion Lifestyle Editor, then worked at Good Health magazine as Fashion Director alongside scoring a new role as Fashion Director of Cosmopolitan magazine.
The Australian Fashion Industry moderated panel provides an insight into the state of the modern Australian fashion industry and give students the rare opportunity of posing questions to leading Australian fashion industry identities. The panel will discuss topics such the future direction of the Fashion industry, the benefits of putting on a runway show, fashion opportunities in Australia and career advice for getting started in the Australian fashion industry.
