Director – Alice Euphemia
2012-Introduction to Runway Production course
For sixteen years Alice Euphemia has been the vanguard of Melbourne fashion, showcasing Australia’s most talented young designers within the Flinders Lane Emporium and this is set to continue with the Online Boutique providing 24 hour access to local and international fashion followers.
Owner and fashion pioneer, Karen Rieschieck, who has been fostering local design talent by investing in the country’s most promising up-and-comers (many of whom have gone on to become some of the most high-profile names in the industry), says the launch of the Online Boutique was a natural addition to the business “Over the years, many local and International fashion devotees have supported Alice Euphemia for its progressive fashion vision and I want the Online Boutique to capture the same essence, making it the best place to buy local design online.
Karen first opened the doors to Alice Euphemia sixteen years ago, extending an invitation to small-time local clothing designers and jewelers to exhibit their wares in store. Over the years the business has flourished and Karen still encourages the growth and nurtures emerging designers while stocking some of the most well-known Australian designers. Karen splits her time at Alice between guest lecturing and mentoring at RMIT, and in the past has organized conferences discussing ethical fashion and sustainability within the industry.
